Students are not given tangible rewards (ex. stickers, treats) for following these classroom rules, they are expected classroom behavior. However, students are taught about logical consequences.
Positive Consequences
Praise (daily)
Positive notes and calls home
Fun activities to do as a class
If You Choose to Break a Rule…
Students are taught that if you break it you fix it. This motto is used in all kinds of circumstances. For example, if you say or do something to hurt another student’s feelings, it is your responsibility to make it right.
Kingsley does have reports that are filled out when a student becomes extremely defiant or aggressive. When two reports are given in the same day an interventionist is called to come and remove the student. During this time students discuss their behavior and learn ways to improve. A copy of these reports will be sent home the same day and need to be signed by the parent or guardian. Everyday will be a new start with behavior.
